New Titan and Accelerator Releases for Sage CRM

A new minor release of Titan and Accelerator is now available for Sage CRM 6.2 at www.crmtogether.com. The updates are fixes to the installation (the correct application pool is set, a change in Sage CRM 6.2) and the correct .net framework (2.0) is set (these can be set manually in IIS).
In the Titan portal demo we removed the "Newsletter" link due to the bug introduced in sage CRM 6.2 (see our previous post on this below).

Free Rostering anyone?

We're involved in a small product called Rota365. The site (www.rota365.com) is just live and the beta version is available for free. You just need to register on the site to get the download link.
The software is used to create work rosters/schedules and the idea is to save your company money by helping create rosters intuitively and be able to see the cost as you go.
Its still a little buggy and there is a bit of work to do as it has not quite hit our expectations in terms of feel and flow. The idea of the free beta release is two fold in that its a marketing exercise and also we get to see what users love/hate about the software. Thats the trade off for it being free.
Anyway if you know anyone that might use this software please let them know about it.

New names for add-on products (for Sage CRM )

Well kinda new names...well okay just some jumbling around of words. At the moment all our Sage CRM products are called.."Sage CRM productx"...which I think can be slightly misleading in that we are not part of Sage. But more importantly we are looking at other CRM platforms that Accelerator could be used for (or even Titan),so, should we make a decision to go ahead with this (or have we already started???...I'll keep you guessing:) ) then it makes things(life) easier.
So our "Sage CRM Accelerator" will change to "Accelerator for Sage CRM" and our "Sage CRM Titan ASP.Net Suite" will be "Titan ASP.Net Suite for Sage CRM". You will see these changes start to come through the next few releases of the software.

CRM6.2sp1 bug (coverup?) in Self Service

In Sage CRM 6.2 (sp1) there is a bug in self service whereby it does not work unless a user is logged in.Please note, in the portal demo site, that the "Newsletter" block (which is a lead screen called ss_lead) does not display unless a user has logged in. This of course does not make sense so really this is a deliberate cover up of a bug by someone in dev. Previously (pre 6.2sp1) this screen allowed people to subscribe to a news letter and created a lead record based on this subscription. Of course now you need to be a person to be created as a lead..huh?! Yeah that ain't right.
If you have a self service site do not upgrade!! Sage CRM partners are using CRM Togethers software and we (CRM Together) got the blame for this (and spent unpaid time figuring out the issue). So I am very annoyed. Not annoyed that there was a bug but that someone in Sage CRM covered it up and let the release go out with this "fix".

UPDATE: Sage have created a case and it has been escalated to the development team in Dublin

Quick tip

If you are installing the Sage CRM Titan or Accelerator suites on IIS 7 you may need to change the application pool for the virtual driectories that are created to use the "CRMApppool".
Also ASP does need to be installed as the Titan suite uses an ASP bridge to CRM (The accelerator web service is built using Titan).
